Word of the Year 2019

Happy Saturday! I am so excited about this post and have been planning it for months! My computer has given me so many issues today! I know I said this post would be toDAY, not tonight haha. So thanks for being here!

Real quick, I would love it if you would drop your email address in the box to the right (or at the bottom if you’re on your phone) to subscribe to the blog! After that you’ll recieve an email each time I put out a new post! I am thinking about once a week to 2-3 times a month, depending on what’s going on #reallife. You’ll only get an email when there is a new post, so don’t worry about getting a bunch of stuff cramming your inbox!

I’m sure if you’re on social media during the new year, you see TONS of people posting about their word of the year. If not, there are lots of people that choose to be more intentional through the year by sticking to a word. Community, kindness, family, intentional, joy, influence, peace, believe, just to name a few.

The last few years I have tried to choose one, but it never stuck. This year I really prayed for one. I asked The Lord to give me something that I could cling to. Especially because Ian was going to be gone for half the year.

I was frustrated and disappointed when January came around with no word. Then February passed and I still nothing. One day in March, I stood in my bedroom, in tears, pleading with God to take away this heartbreak. Asking Him why my family is being torn apart.

Jesus swept in so close to me and gently whispered to my heart “Your word for this year is Redemption” and “I am going to redeem all of this”.

re-demption, noun
deliverance; rescue.

Y’all Jesus is SO good. If you don’t know Him, you are for realz missing out! I don’t believe that God intentionally “punishes” us when we make mistakes. I believe we mess up and do dumb stuff that sucks and Jesus gets to swoop in and say “it’s ok, I’ve got you”.

Psalm 130:7– Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.

A local friend of mine has a business, A Soul Song that creates jewelry to inspire and encourage you. (There is a discount code for you at the bottom of this post!) I had to get this necklace after I got this word! I love it so much, and what a great reminder it is during this season of constant change and chaos!
